Police apprehend, arrest Bardstown man in vehicle theft investigation

Monday, May 23, 2016 — A Bardstown man was arrested Sunday on auto theft charges following an investigation by the Bardstown Police Department.

090101_arrest_logoOn Sunday, May 22, 2016, Bardstown Police were dispatched at 4:46 p.m. for the report of a black Dodge pickup truck that was reportedly stolen. At the time of the report, Bardstown K-9 Officer Kyler Wright was sitting in his cruiser at the Car Pool car wash, 137 W. John Rowan Blvd, when he saw a black Dodge truck coming through the grassy area between the car wash and the Bardstown Barber Shop.

Wright talked with several witnesses who confirmed the truck was the one stolen. He later located the truck parked at 108 Payne St. When Wright knocked on the door at that address, there was no answer. After getting the property owner’s permission to search the home, Wright found Maceo Tucker, 31, of Bardstown, at the rear of the home trying to leave where he was intercepted by K-9 Officer Jerry Hardin of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Tucker was taken into custody without incident and charged with theft by unlawful taking and disposition, auto under $10,000. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
